Sunnyboys 81-84 (10th Year Reformation Anniversary)
Fronted by teenage Sydney singer-guitarist-songwriterĀ Jeremy OxleyĀ alongside brother Peter on bass, guitarist Richard Burgman and drummer Bil Bilson, pop-rock act Sunnyboys first two albums,Ā SunnyboysĀ (platinum sales) andĀ IndividualsĀ both appeared in the TopĀ 30 of the AustralianĀ Kent Music ReportĀ Albums Chart.
Having formed in mid-1980, Sunnyboys quickly built up a loyal fan base via their rapturously received live shows. Their debut 4-track EP wasĀ released in December that same year on the Phantom label before the band signed to Mushroom Records in January 1981 and releasing their debut self-titled album in October. That album contained the band's biggest streamed tracksĀ Alone With YouĀ andĀ Happy Man,Ā and has featured in every Top 50 AustralianĀ albumsĀ list ever since.
SunnyboysĀ ā81 -Ā ā84 - a bandĀ curated collection -Ā celebrates the bandāsĀ 10th year (reformed) anniversary andĀ brings together the hits, b-sides, band faves and live material from 1981Ā concertsĀ Live At Bombay Rock Melbourne and Triple J Live At The Wireless, Sydney, and will be released as a blue vinyl double LPĀ and digital deluxe.
Sunnyboys will tour nationally in 2023 to continue the celebration.
